MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES -

MARCH 1989 The unit entered the reporting period performing a power reduction to 54K rated thermal power (RTP).

The power reduction was instituted to extend the reactor core life.

Reactor power was stabalized at 54K RTP at 0937 hours0.0108 days <br />0.26 hours <br />0.00155 weeks <br />3.565285e-4 months <br /> on March 1, 1989.

On March 17, 1989 at 2200 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.371e-4 months <br /> a power reduction was started to remove the unit from service for cycle 10-11 refueling outage.

On March 18, 1989 at 0608 hours0.00704 days <br />0.169 hours <br />0.00101 weeks <br />2.31344e-4 months <br /> the unit experienced a reactor trip from ill RTP, removing the unit from service.

The reporting period ended with the reactor coolant system in Mode 6 with preperations for core unloading in progress.

DETAILS 3-1-89 3-17-89 0937 RTP at 54K.

2200 Starting power reduction at 6X hr. to remove unit from service for refueling outage.

3-18-89 0305 Stopped power decrease at 25K for S/G cleanup.

0330 Continuing unit shutdown.

0608 RTP trip from 11$ power due to intermediate range high level (Mode 3).

1720 RCS entered Mode 4.
