The unit entered the reporting period with the reactor coolant system in Mode 6 and preparations underway to off-load the core. On 4-9-89 the fuel had been removed from the reactor vessel and placed in the spent fuel pit in preparation for maintenance on the reactor coolant pumps and other maintenance requiring reduced inventory in the RCS. The reporting period ended with preparations underway to refill the RCS and reload the core.

DETAILS 4-1-89 1041 Received load shed on Train 'B'afeguards bus.

1308 Made 4 hour report to NRC on loss of power to Train B safeguards.

4-4-89 1830 Lifted head and set on stand.

1901 Started flooding of reactor cavity.

1915 Cavity flooded up.

4-6-89 0237 Started lowering level in refueling cavity in preparation to lift upper internals.

1034 Upper internals are lifted and placed on storage rack.

4-9-89 0943 Core off loaded.

4-10-89 1742 Tripped CD D/G due to overspeed condition - frequency meter pegged high.

4-20-89 1445 Started draining reactor cavity to RWST.

1600 Upper internals set back in place.

4-21-89 0925 Reactor head set back in place. No studs installed.

1057 Began draining the RCS.

2235 The RCS at half loop level.
