Thank you for the submittal of your July 1988 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report as required by 10 CFR 50.71(e).
We have reviewed the changes included in your Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) as required by 10 CFR 50.54(a).
Your changes relative to the new Data Base system included in the QAPD were discussed on October 6, 1988, with Nr. P. Barrett and others of your staff.
Based on our review and discussion, we find that your revised program continues to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and is therefore acceptable.
In the future, we would appreciate a more detailed description in the QAPD regarding the new Data Base system and its use for safety related components, responsibility for ensuring its accuracy, and procedural controls.
This description should alleviate any confusion on our part in understanding how your new Data Base system would be comparable to other plants "Q-list."
We appreciate your timely submittal of the information required by 10 CFR 50.54(a).
