Dear Mr. Dolan:
By letter dated January 29, 1987, the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company (IMEC) submitted a revised large-break loss-of-coolant accident analysis for the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant, Unit No. 1.
This analysis was to confirm that the existing normalized peaking factor curve vs core height K(z) is appropriate for ANC (Exxon) 15 x 15 fuel.
We have completed our review and conclude that the limiting peaking factors used in the calculations and specified by the K(z) curve in the Technical Specifications are acceptable for D. C.
Cook Unit No. 1, when fueled with the ANC fuel.
This completes our review of this matter.
For your information, our safety evaluation is enclosed.
