This Generic L'etter dated July 8, 1983 listed the required actions by licensees based on the generic implications of the Salem ATWS events.
Item 2. 1 (Part 1) requires a confirmation that all reactor trip system components are identified, classified, and treated as safety-related.
We find the program by IMEC meets the requirements of Item 2.1 (Part
- 1) and is therefore acceptable.
Our Safety Evaluation and our contractors Technical Evaluation are enclosed.
Part 2 of this item is still under review.
