1 and 2.

This letter also provided the proposed schedule for the program in accordance with 10 CFR 50.44(c).

In our review we have identified several areas of concern and have discussed these with your staff.

For the proposed hydrogen combustion assumptions, IMEC should consider the results of fog inerting tests and analyses in determining the appropriate ignition values for hydrogen and flame propagation values for compartments.

These considerations should be documented in your program as part of the basis for selection of these values.

In addition, we have requested that your staff contact Sandia Labs to obtain the revised MARCH (HECTR) correlation for completeness of combustion and flame speed.

We have requested this direct contact so that you may be fully aware of the derivation and use of the revised correlation and its application to the D.

In regards to the IMEC schedule for the Hydrogen Control Program, it is requested that a meeting with the NRC be included at about week 8, if it is necessary, to discuss the MARCH input parameters.

We plan to have discussions in the near future which may preclude the need for this meeting.

We also request that a meeting be held at or about week 24 to discuss the CLASIX results which we understand should be available by week 20.

The IMEC program currently indicates a 44 week completion but as we discussed with your staff a program plan and schedule should be available at week 44 on equipment survivability for NRC review and approval as part of 10 CFR 50.44(c).

That program, if one is necessary, will include the affected equipment and address the thermal response and peak pressure differential load analyses which may be required.
