This is in response
to your letter AEP:NRC:0499A dated
March 25,
1985,
concerning your verbal
commitment to perform a periodic visua1 inspection
of the containment
pape tunnel
sump in regard to IE Bulletin 80-24.

. Followup verification of your actions to implement IE Bulletin 80-24 was
performed by the Senior Resident Inspector at the D.C.
Cook plant site and
documented in Inspection
Reports
85010/85010(DRP) for Units 1 and 2,
respectively.
Based
upon verification of the availability and reliability
of installed equipment,
termination of the visual inspections
is considered
acceptable.
This letter confirms, approval to discontinue the referenced
inspections,
notification of which was previously provided to you verbally through the
Senior Resident
Inspector
on May 3, 1985.
