At the meeting on December 13, 1984 on the'nit 2 'reload analysis, the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company staffquestioned the statements made in the Unit 1 cycle 8 reload analysis safety evaluation (SE) concerning, applicability of the SE to only the cycle 8 reload.
We understand that'MEC may be considering a
10 CFR 50.59 review for cycle 9 and believe it necessary that the NRC statements in the cycle 8 SE by clarified.
In that review, we noted that many transients were performed at a higher power level although D.

Cook Unit 2 was not authorized to operate above 3250 Mwt.
Our statements are limited to the approved power level and were intended to make certain that no approval was implied for operation at 3411 Mwt.
