The Nuclear Regulatory ComlIIission has completed its SALP Assessment relating to the performance of your reactor facility and will present its findings at a meeting on June 21, 1984, at 1:30 p.m. at the D. C.
Cook Center, Bridgman, Michigan.
Arrangements for this meeting were previously made between Mr. Paul A. Barrett of your staff and Mr. G.
C. Wright of Region III on May 24, 1984.
We encourage American Electric Power Service Corporation to have appropriate corporate and plant management representation at the meeting to ensure a
mutual understanding, of the issues and findings being presented by NRC.
'hile this meeting is considered a presentation and discussion forum between American Electric Power and the NRC, the meeting will'be'pened to any other interested parties as observers.
Those persons outside the licensee and NRC staffs should inform the Regional Office-of their intent to participate so possible space limitations can be accommodated to avoid unnecessary disruption to the meeting.
We hope this meeting will benefit your organization and provide you with a meaningful characterization of the overall safety performance for the D. C.
