As outlined in our SER, we have found that you have satisfactorily shown that on an interim basis, until our review of your final design is complete that the proposed DIS will provide with reasonable assurance protection against breach of containment in the event that a substantial quantity of hydrogen is generated.

However, for the reasons outlined in our SER, we require that you adopt the followina:

1.

You have currently proposed actuating the DIS upon generation of the automatic phase B containment isolation signal.

The phase B isolation signal is generated upon reaching the high-high containment pressure s6tpoint of 2.9 psig.

For the reasons given in the SER, we require.

that you actuate the DIS upon receipt of a safety indection signal.

As a result of our review of igniter systems for other ice condenser plants and the similarity of D.

Cook to these other units, we require that you develop and implement procedures to trip the ice condenser air handling units upon actuating the DIS.
