1980 letter we enclosed our Safety Evaluation Repor (SER) on the D. C.
Cook Unit Nos.
1 and 2 Auxiliary.Feedwater (AFtl)
System Reliability.
In our letter and SER ale indicated that there,&ere four items for which our review was not complete.
These were:

Additional Recommendation 1 - The design of the level indication and low level alarms for the AFll system primagr water supply is not**
acceptable.
We require that you provide redundant level indication and alarms for the primary watei smource of the AFW system.
2.
Additional Recommendation 3 (Task Action Plan Item II.E.1.2) - The safety grade design (long term requirement) for AFW flow indication is still under review.
Additional, clarification of our requirements for this item is included in oui. September 5,
1980 letter on Pre-liminary Clarification of THI Action Plan Requirements.
3.
Long Term Recommendation GL-5 (Task Action Plan Item II.E.1.2) - The safety grade design for AFA automatic initiation signals and circuits*
is still under reviev.
Additioiia1 clar'ification of our requirements for this item is included in our September 5, 1980 lettei. on Pre-liminary Clarification of TNI, Action plan Requirements.

Recomiendation - You have not* provided the infoniiation required for Enclosure 2 of our October 30,. 1979'letter.
We have now completed our reviev of your responses to Item 1-'additional-.
Recomnendat1on I and Item 4-RecommeridatIon, and conc1ude that they are acceptable.
Our SER concerning these items and,.the information provided on the bases for AFW System Flow Requirements is,enclosed for youi infor-,
mation.
Our review of Item'.2-Recoiimendation 3 and Item,3-Long Tenn Recommendation GL-5 is still continuing.
We will report on the results of this review, when completed, in a future,SER.
