The Comission has issued the enclosed Amendment Ho.

21 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-74 for the Donald C.

Cook Nuclear Plant, Unit Ho. 2. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application transmitted by letter dated August 9,

1979, as supplemented by letters dated December 7,
1979, March 28, 1980 and May 23, 1980.

The enclosed Safety Evaluation covers the Auxiliary Feedwater System modifications proposed by the licensee in which a motor driven auxiliary feedwater pump (MDAFP) is added to each unit to separate the shared operation of the motor driven auxiliary feedwater pumps between Unit Ho.

1 and Unit No. 2.

The modification does not change the Unit Ho.

1 Technical Specifications.

This amendment provides for a revision to Unit Ho.

2 Technical Specifications to separate the limiting conditions for operation and surveillance requirements for Unit No.

2 MDAFPs from those in Unit No-l.

The Notice of Issuance is also enclosed.
