PORSB response to MIT work request Date:
Monday, November 13, 2017 11:54:06 AM PORSB has completed its acceptance review of MITs amendment request dated October 25, 2017, and finds there is sufficient information present to begin the technical review.
This was requested by November 14, 2017; an RAI is requested by December 8, 2017, and an SER by January 4, 2018. While we do not at this time anticipate a difficult or complex review, it is not possible at this early date to commit to those dates, especially in light of other licensing work, including support for the Northwest Medical Isotopes hearings. In addition, note that this does not allow the usual 30 days for licensees to respond to an RAI, should one be found necessary, the review of any RAI responses, additional discussion and review should those responses be inadequate, or the subsequent development of an SER. The normal time frame for an amendment is 180 days following issuance of the acceptance letter. In addition, the renewed licensee to which this is the first amendment has not yet been issued. We will do our best to review this as expeditiously as possible, but while we understand the licensees interest in getting this issued in time for the spring semester, much depends on the licensees prompt and thorough addressing of any issues that may arise.
Therefore at this time we will commit to an SER input date of March 23
