We have concluded
the matter
does not
appear to involve noncompliance
and
we will revise our records accordingly.
While we accept the use of Maintenance
Procedure
No.
12
MHP 5050.SPC.002,
Revision 1, for exploratory grinding to define the extent of damage that
had occurred,
we also recognize
the need for repair procedures
that meet
ASME Section XI requirements
early in the program.
Accordingly, for
future major modifications
we would expect to see
ASME Section XI repair
program procedures
delineating all of the requirments of the complete
repair cycle prior to start of repairs.
