NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-528/98-301; 50-529/98-301; 50-530/98-301
Dear Mr. Levine:
From December 7-16, 1998, an operator licensing certification inspection was conducted at
your Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, reactor facilities'. The enclosed
report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
The inspection included an evaluation of 6 applicants for senior operator licenses and
11 applicants for reactor operator licenses.
We determined that all applicants satisfied the
requirements of 10 CFR Part 55, and the appropriate licenses have been issued.
It is
noteworthy that by developing an innovative examination schedule you were able to prepare a
high quality examination utilizing only one set of examination materials, which minimized both
licensee and NRC resource requirements.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure willbe placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
