Units 1, 2 and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528/529/530 Response to NRC Generic Letter 97-04 This letter provides Arizona Public Service Company's (APS), 30 day response to NRC Generic Letter 97-04," Assurance of sufficient net positive suction head for emergency core cooling and containment heat removal pumps".
APS is working with industry groups and the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (GEOG) in addressing the issue of sufficient Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) for emergency core cooling and containment heat removal to formulate the 90-day response to Generic Letter 97-04.
APS intends to submit a written response to the NRC within 90 days from the date of the generic letter, relative to items 1-5 of the Requested Information section of the Generic Letter.
Ifthe schedule or the content of the written report needs to be revised from that discussed in the Generic Letter, APS will provide appropriate notification to the NRC.
