Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528/529/530 Revision of Commitments for Notice of Violation 50-529/96-06-01 In response to the concern identiTied in the subject violation, Arizona Public Service e

Company (APS) previously committed to implement a design modification to install a more positive alignment system for the upper guide structure during each Unit's respective refueling outage with final installation scheduled for Unit 2 in November 1997.

During the 1996 Fall outage for Unit 1, we experienced problems with the guide structure liftrig bushing and elected to also modify the bushing as part of the alignment system modification.

Because of this added scope of work, we were not able to complete the revised modification during the Unit 1 outage.

However, the modification has been successfully installed during the Unit 3 refueling outage in March 1997 and is currently scheduled for installation in Unit 2 in September 1997, with final installation scheduled for the next Unit 1 refueling outage.

Therefore we are revising our initial commitment to state that the alignment system final installation will be completed in the Unit 1 refueling outage (1R7) in the spring of 1998.
