Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Units 1,2, and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528/529/530 Proposed Changes to the Quality Assurance Program Description In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3), Arizona Public Service Company (APS) submits herewith, for NRC review and approval, a proposed change to the PVNGS Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) Quality Assurance (QA) program description.
r Currently, the PVNGS Nuclear Assurance Department reviews quality related work authorizing documents to determine the need for independent inspection by the Nuclear Assurance organization.
APS proposes to amend UFSAR Section 17.2.4.2.1.7, "Independent Inspections,"
to implement a graded/sample basis approach to work document reviews.
Implementing this change is viewed as a reduction in our QA program commitments.
Enclosure 1 to this letter is a complete description and justification for the proposed change.
