PUBLIC MEETING WITH ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY (APS)
SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF LICENSEE PERFORMANCE This refers to the management
- meeting, open to public observation, conducted on January 26, 1995, at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, concerning the Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) Report issued to APS on January 12, 1995.
Attendees at the meeting are listed in Attachment 1 to this letter.
Our presentation slides used during the meeting are included as Attachment 2 to this letter.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the NRC's assessment of licensee performance for the period of June 1,
- 1993, through November 30, 1994.
- Overall, we found that the plant continued to be operated safely and activities were directed to improving safety.
We believe the discussions during the meeting assisted you in more fully understanding the basis for our assessment and the areas we believe need improvement.
We appreciated your openness and candor regarding the SALP report and the areas needing improvement.
During the meeting, you described actions being taken to improve those areas noted in the SALP report and we encourage your staff to continue 'these efforts.
In accordance with 10 CFR'.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice,"
a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document
