Mr. Ronald C. Haynes, Regional Administrator Office of Inspection and Enforcement.

'31 Park Avenue King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406

Dear Mr. Haynes:

The enclosed material is being presented in accordance with the requirements of the Ginna Station Technical Specifications sections 6.9.3a and c(2) for the period of January 1 through December 31, 1982 and section 6.9.3b for the period of~<July 1 through December 31, 1982.$

Also included is the "Standard Report of Personnel Whole--Body Expo=

sure by Groups" as required by 10 CFR 20.407(b).

During the last six months of 1982, 7526.5 cubic feet of solid

~waste containing 50.99 Ci of mixed fission products was shipped off si.te for burial in either Barnwell, South Carolina or Hanford, Washington.

Also during this period of time approximately 1073 curies of primarily noble gasses and tritium was released through airborne releases and 117 curies of primarily tritium was released through liquid releases to the environment surrounding the plant.

Tabulations of this data are attached.

For all of 1982, tabulations of environmental sample results are included.

During this period the plant experienced a steam generator tube rupture which allowed some primary coolant to be released through a steam power operated relief valve.

A thorough discussion of the environmental results of the samples collected during that period has been submitted in the "Incident Evaluation, Ginna Steam Generator Tube Failure Incident, January 25, 1982, R.

E.

Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket I50-244".

A separate tabulation of the results of one of the normally reported sample points has been included for that period of time.

Haynes 2'he total ManRem exposure for the Station also reflects the effect of the tube rupture incident.

The exposure reported this

.year is 1108 ManRem, which is significantly higher than our ex-posures in recent years.

Sincerely, Leon D. White, Jr.
