SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO 50-335 UNIT St. Lucie 1 DATE '..JA i4 N>

COMPLETED BY Z. Z. Breen TELEPHONE 407 465-3550 REPORT MONTH DECEMBER 1990 Unit 1 was at full power until December 4, 1990, when downpower commenced due to 1A condensate pump problems. On December 5, 1990, the pump was back in service and power began to increase. It held at approximately 804 due to a problem with the heater drain was pump solenoid valve; Unit 1 then experienced vibration in the g1 and g2 low pressure bearings. At approximately 774 power, bearing vibration readings became acceptable and power was held for repair of the 1A heater drain pump solenoid valve.

I Unit 1 came up to full power on December 6, 1990, and remained there for the rest of the month.

In accordance with the requirements of Technical Specification 6.9.1.6, there were no challenges to the PORVs or safety valves during the report period.

465-3550 REPORT MONTH DECEMBER 1990 On December 3, 1990, as Unit 2 started coming out of the fall 1990

.refueling outage, power was held at 25% for physics testing. On December 4, 1990, Unit 2 started to downpower for turbine overspeed trip testing; the turbine then tripped due to the g6 bearing.

Troubleshooting was done on g6 bearing and was completed on December 5, 1990. Power was then increased and held at 30% due to a chemistry hold.

On December 6, 1990, as power started to increase a nuclear delta temperature calibration was done; power was then increased and held at approximately 504 for physics testing. On December 7, 1990, power was held at 49.5% to resolve moisture seperator reheater temperature control valve, problems. Power was then raised to 804 and held for physics testing on December 8, 1990 thru December 9, 1990. On December 9, 1990, power was increased and Unit 2 was at full power from December 10, 1990, until the rest of the month.
