SUBJECT:

TRIP REPORT NRC STAFF VISIT TO THE GENERAL ELECTRIC APPARATUS SERVICE CENTER ON JULY 8, 15, AND 16, 1992 On July 8, 15, and 16, 1992, the NRC staff visited the General Electric Apparatus Service Center in Chamblee,

Georgia, to witness testing of GE AKR-type reactor trip circuit breakers.

The circuit breakers were shipped from the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station to conduct tests to determine the root cause of breaker failure.

Representatives of Arizona Public Service Company from Palo Verde were also present.

A copy of the NRC staff's trip report is enclosed for your information.
