Dear Mr. Conway:
SUBJECT:
SALT DEPOSITION MONITORING PROGRAM PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION (TAC Nos.Pt80938
~$80939, andPt80940)
We have reviewed your letter of December 30, 1991, wherein you advised us that the salt deposition monitoring program at Palo Verde has been discontinued under the terms of paragraph 4.2.2, "Terrestrial Ecology Monitoring", of the Environmental Protection Plan (Appendix B to each Palo Verde operating license).
You indicated that the monitoring program has been conducted for four years from the date of operation of all three Palo Verde units, which is one year more than required.
Since you have satisfied the requirement for conducting the monitoring program, you are authorized to terminate the program under the terms of paragraph 4.2.2.
You also have withdrawn your request for a proposed change to this program.
Accordingly, we are cancelling our review.
As we discussed with your staff on January 10,
- 1992, we request that you provide your overall conclusions regarding this subject when you submit the results of the monitoring for 1991 in the next Annual Environmental Operati'ng Report.
Sincerely, Qriginal signed by Charles M. Trammell, Sr. Project Manager Project Directorate V
