Supplemental Information to Notice of Violation 50-528/89-36-01, 530/89-36-03, 529/89-36-01, and 530/89-36-01 File'0-070-026 Attachment 2, Section 3, of the referenced letter committed PVNGS to transmit a schedule of actions which will be implemented to provide more positive control of system configuration and status.
Accordingly, the short and long term actions are provided as an attachment to this letter.

0 ATTACHMENT SHORT TERM

Commitment: This reemphasis of existing formal controls'will be accomplished
~ in the short term by changes and integration of parts within the "Conduct of Shift Operations" procedure, "System Status Program" procedure, and the "Configuration Management Program" procedure.
Response

Conduct of Shift Operations (40AC-90P02) has been revised.
This change will become effective prior to February 15, 1990.
This change will delete references to system status prints, define system status, and list those documents which are used to assess system status.
Also, the distinction between system status control and design configuration management will be clarified.
System Status Control (40DP-90P09) will be revised.
This revision will be made effective by May 31, 1990.
This revision will delete references to the system status prints, integrate with the changes to Conduct of Shift Operations, provide a means of documenting component manipulations, and provide a means of tracking status by use of system files.
0 The requirements of the System Status Program (40PR-90POl) are met and integrated into the System Status Control procedure.
No further action is required for this procedure.

The requirements of the Configuration Management Program (81PR-OCC01) are integrated with system operations as described in the Conduct of Shift Operations procedure.
No further action is required for this procedure.
LONG TERM Commitment: In the long term, if necessary, new administrative control procedure(s) will be implemented to define configuration control and replace the present system utilized to maintain system status.
Response
The long-term portion of the commitment will be met by performing an evaluation of system status control after the upcoming procedure changes are implemented.
The evaluation of revised system status controls will be completed by November 30, 1990 (six months after implementing the System Status Control procedure revision).
Any program or procedure changes determined to be necessary will then be scheduled.
