Units 1, 2, and 3 Extension of Waiver for Senior Operator License Applicant File: 89-005-419.06; 89-001-762, 89-A-056-026 Reference (A) requested and Reference (B) granted a waiver to senior operator license applicant Bruce J. Rash for completion of the final three weeks of "participation in reactor and plant operation at power levels of at least 20%

for at least six weeks." A condition of the waiver granted by Reference (B) requires that the remaining three weeks (120 hours0.00139 days <br />0.0333 hours <br />1.984127e-4 weeks <br />4.566e-5 months <br />) be completed by September 30, 1989. Mr. Rash had completed 32 hours3.703704e-4 days <br />0.00889 hours <br />5.291005e-5 weeks <br />1.2176e-5 months <br /> of the remaining 120 hours0.00139 days <br />0.0333 hours <br />1.984127e-4 weeks <br />4.566e-5 months <br /> prior to PVNGS Unit 2 being removed from service on September 6, 1989.

PVNGS Units 1 and 3 are currently undergoing refueling outages and are not scheduled to return to service prior to September 30, 1989. UIit 2 is not expected to return to operation early enough in September to allo 7 Mr. Rash to complete the remaining hours and fulfill the waiver condition by September 30, 1989.

Based on these conditions, APS is hereby requesting an extension to the waiver completion date for Bruce J. Rash to three months beyond the completion of the August 1989 Senior Operator License examination administered at PVNGS.
