Confirmatory Action Letter This letter is provided as requested by. the referenced letter concerning the introduction of nonconservative information into the Unit 2 Channel B Core Protection Calculator (CPC).
The attachment to this letter provides the investigation report of the event and the actions taken or to be taken to preclude recurrence.
As you will note the report indicates that additional research and evaluation is required to develop a methodology which will ensure detection and correction of potentially incorrect RDB constants under all conditions.
In addition, this report documents the verification of acceptable operation of the Unit 1
CPC channels.
On June 27,
- 1988, ANPP informed Hr. Kirsch, of your staff, that the results-of the CPC verification testing conducted in Unit 2 at the 70/ power level were satisfactory.
