Changes in Executive Management of the Arizona Nuclear Power Project (ANPP)
This letter is provided to advise NRC that Mr. Ed Van Brunt, Jr.
has retired as Executive Vice President, ANPP, after sixteen (16) years of involvement with the Project.
Mr.
Van Brunt's knowledge and experience
- will, however, not be lost to us as he will continue working for the company in a consulting capacity.
I have named Mr. Donald B.
Karner to replace Mr.
Van Brunt as Executive Vice President, ANPP.
Most recently Mr. Karner was Vice President, Engineering, Arizona Public Service Company (APS).
Mr. Karner received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1973 and a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1974.
He came to APS in June 1974 as an I&C Engineer in the ANPP Engineering Department.
He was assigned to various positions of increasing responsibility, within the Engineering Department, and was subsequently promoted to Supervising Licensing Engineer.
In July
- 1980, he was assigned to the Four Corners Steam Electric Generating Station (2070 MW) as a Plant Superintendent, and he was promoted to Plant Manager in April 1981.
He returned to the Palo Verde project as Assistant Vice President, Nuclear Production, in February 1984 to assist the Vice President of Nuclear Production in the Engineering, Construction, Startup and Operation of Palo Verde.
He was promoted to Vice President, Engineering, of APS in December 1985.
While in this position, he was also responsible for preparing APS'ctivities for the Prudency Audit of PVNGS.
