Request for Additional Information-Palo Verde Responses to Items 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 in Generic Letter 83-28
Dear Mr. Knighton:
In response to the request made in the referenced letter, a meeting was held on June 12,
- 1986, between ANPP and members of your staff. Attached is a list of meeting attendees.
During the meeting, the following documents were reviewed and discussed:
1)
Reactor Trip Switchgear System Environmental Qualification Program for Arizona Nuclear Power Project, Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2 and 3; Program No. 14273-ICE-3516, Rev. 03; 2)
Aging Analysis Report and Age Conditioning Procedure for Reactor Trip Switchgear for Use in Combustion Engineering System 80 Nuclear Power Generating Stations; 3)
Aging Analysis of Reactor Trip Switchgear System in a Non-Harsh Environ-ment; and 4)
Determination of Non-Metallic Materials Used in the Westinghouse Model DS-206 Low Voltage Power Circuit Breaker.
Results of the review indicated that the information contained within the documents resolved the NRC concerns about non-mechanical life limiting mechanisms with regard to both types of reactor trip breakers at PVNGS (General Electric AKR-30 and West-inghouse DS-206).
