Subject:

Large Break LOCA Evaluation Model Palo Verde Units 2 and 3

Dear Mr. Knighton:

ANPP performed the reanalysis of the limiting Large Break loss-of-Coolant Accident (LBLOCA), PVNGS FSAR Section 15.6.5, to confirm that the impact of the PVNGS specific parameters does not adversely affect the LBLOCA results.

ANPP committed to the limiting LBLOCA,reanalysis, as requested per Appendix H of the PVNGS SSER 7, in Reference 1).

The results of the reanalysis demonstrate that the current analysis of record (CESSAR Section 6.3.3.2) remains limiting for the plant changes described in Reference 1).

The potential non-conservatism in the previously approved CE ECCS evaluation model as discussed in Reference 2), will be addressed separately by ANPP.

Xf you have any questions concerning this matter, contact Mr. W. F. Quinn of my staff.
