Subject:
PVNGS Environmental Qualification Justification for Continued Operation.
Dear Mr. Knighton:
Reference (1) submitted a Justification for Interim Operation (JIO) for PVNGS Unit 1 in order to complete the installation of environmentally qualified radiation monitors.
These two radiation monitors are the containment high-range radiation monitors.
Additionally, Reference (3) submitted a Justification for Continued Operation (JCO) for PVNGS Unit 1 in order to complete the installation of environmentally qualified radiation monitors.
These two radiation monitors are the primary coolant system radiation monitors.
Accords;ngly, by the issuance of the Unit 1 Operating License, the NRC Staff has iinposed license condition 2.C(6) for ANPP to complete the installation of environmentally qualified radiation monitors prior to November 30, 1985.
ANPP confirms that the installation of the radiation monitors has been completed and these monitors are now fully qualified for use at PVNGS in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR 50.49.
