Dear Mr. Knighton:
A telecon was held on May 9, 1985 between ANPP and the NRC staff to discuss the Justification for Continued safe Operation (JCO) for the primary coolant system radiation monitors.
This JCO was submitted to the NRC by Reference (1).
Additionally, Reference (1) stated that ANPP would conduct a review of the qualification status of the instrumentation that is used to meet the guidance of Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 2.
The purpose of this submittal is to provide the results of the review.
The review of the qualification status of the post accident monitoring instrumentation that is used to meet the guidance of Regulatory Guide 1.97, Rev.
2 has been completed.
ANPP has concluded that all of the Regulatory Guide 1.97 instruments are either fully qualified for use at PVNGS or a JCO/JIO has been provided to the NRC staff.
Equipment Qualification JCO's (JIO's) that involve Regulatory Guide 1.97 equipment have been submitted to the NRC staff in the letters of References (1) through (4).
