Core Protection Calculator (CPC)/Plant Monitoring System (PMS) Data Link qualification.
Dear Mr. Knighton:
Reference (1) provided the information requested per the July 25, 1984 letter from the staff.
Per the Reference (2) meeting, the staff requested ANPP to provide confirmation that the isolation device used for the CPC/
PMS is part of the protection system (i.e., device is safety related; environmentally qualified in accordance with 10CFR50.49 and seismically qual ified).
In response, the isolation device is part of the protection system and is safety related.
The isolation device is located in the control room and cable spreading rooms which are considered a mild post-accident environment (see FSAR Appendix E, Table 3E-l, Pages 3E-7 and 3E-8).
The isolation device has been environmentally qualified for use in this environment, and has also been seismically qualified.
gualification documentation for the isolation device is provided in the DNBR/LPD System gualification Program Report and is available for review at the ANPP offices.
