Dear Mr. Knighton:
The enclosed six (6) copies of the revised Fire Protection Evaluation Report (FPER) are provided for your review and comment.
This revision will be incorporated into the PVNGS Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) in Amendment 13.
The existing FPER (Amendment 3) is hereby superceded, and it will no longer exist as a separate document.
The revision provides additional detail regarding the PVNGS Fire Protection Design in light of requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix R, and the clarifications of NRC Generic Letter 83-33 and NRC IE Information Notice 84-09.
The simplified piping and electrical drawings (figures 9B-40 through 9B-53) were not prepared in time to accompany this advance copy, but will be included with the formal submittal of Amendment 13, scheduled for delivery August 1, 1984.
