SUBJECT:

SUMMARY

OF MEETING ON PALO VERDE FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM A meeting was held on June 7, 1984 in Bethesda, Maryland with representatives of the applicant.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the fire protection' program for Palo Verde.

Enclosure 1 lists the meeting attendees and the meeting is summarized as follows:

~Summa r The applicant informed us that it is performing a detailed evaluation of the Palo Verde fire protection program to assess the program's conformance with the staff's fire protection guidelines.

As a result of this effort, the applicant has determined that deviations exist and is currently preparing justifications for them.

During the meeting, the applicant discussed some examples of what it found.

The applicant stated that the next amendment (No. 13) to the FSAR will update the fire protection program to identify, and provide justification for, the deviations found.

The target date for submittal of Amendment 13 is July 1984.

The staff stated that it would perform an evaluation of the submittal after it is received.
