Palo Verde Allegations, Information for the ASIB In your note to Paul Narbut dated April 10, 1984 you requested updated information regarding three specific allegations.
The information you requested is attached.
We are also forwarding copies of the applicable inspection reports not previously forwarded.
We consider the actions on those allegations closed.
The remaining well defined issues are listed and will be pursued and closed as part of the normal inspection followup of items.

Add to your July 20, 1983 list, report 50-528/83-36 par.
2a Also as a result of a meeting with Mr. Gunderson on October 15, 1983 to explain the actions taken in regards to his allegations, Region V received some clarifications and some new allegations from Mr. Gunderson.
These new items and clarifications were given the NRC Allegation tracking number RV-83-A-053, and were reported in 50-528/84-04 paragraphs 2a, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f, 2g, 2h, 2i and 2j.
The investigations are considered concluded.
However as a result of the investigations certain well defined issues were identified which have been or will be pursued as normal inspection items.
These were identified in the previously described reports and the remaining open items are summarized below.
All necessary actions will be taken prior to fuel load.

Your July 20, 1983 Letter to the Board has a typographical error.
The report listed as "50-528/83-02" dated April 21, 1983 should be "50-528/83-11" Xn addition add 50-528/83-29 paragraph 2j.
The examination of these allegations is considered closed.
The remaining well defined open item is 50-528/83-02-03 which requires a technical study and analysis by the licensee to resolve examples of the use of excessive force used in pipe fitup.
This open item will'be'" pursued in the normal inspection program followup.
