Dear Mr. Knighton:
Reference (1) provided your request for additional information on emergency plan items that have been under staff review.
Our responses to your request will be provided in Revision 3 to the Emergency Plan which is scheduled for submittal about August 15, 1983.
Clarification to two of your responses are provide as follows:
A.

Enclosure Item 2,
requested that we provide a
discussion of the basis for offsite dose assessment methods (i.e.
computer and hand calculational methods).
Our dose estimations are provided by the Chemical and Radiological Computer System (CRACS).
Other methods
- used, in the event that CRACS is unavailable, are (1) an Osborne microcomputer and (2) hand calculation.
Details of the Osborne system and associated program were provided to you by attachment 4 of Reference (2).
B.

suggested that evacuation time estimate information should be reviewed by appropriate State and Local officials.
Please be advised that appropriate State and Local officials actually originate the evacuation estimate information.
