Dear Mr. Novak:

Section 4.2.5 of Reference (A), requires the first, CESSAR System 80 applicant, PVNGS Unit 1, commit to performing the Guide Tube Surveillance Program described in Reference (B), Section 4.2.3.1.

Our commitment to this item will be as follows:

If, following this inspection, no significant Guide Tube wear is observed, no subsequent inspections for Guide Tube wear will be conducted. If, on the other hand, significant Guide Tube wear is observed, we i<ill perform the inspection at the next reload and eval-uate action to be taken to eliminate the problem, as well as future inspec-tion programs.

This commitment will be incorporated into the PVNGS FSAR in an upcoming amendment.

Please contact me if you have any questions on this matter.

Very truly yours,
