Units, 1,

2 and 3, dated November, 1981

Dear Mr. Novak:

Section 6.2.1.1 of the referenced document discussed the unavailability of accuracies and response times of the following post-accident contain-....

ment instruments:

1.

Containment Sump Water Temperature.

Monitors 2.

Containment Atmosphere'emperature, Monitors 3.

Containment Pressure Monitors 4.

Containment Water Level Instruments This information has become available and is provided as follows:

1.

Containment Sump Water Temperature Monitors:

Temperature Element Time Constant is 5 seconds based on 3 fps (accident condition) water velocity for 63.2% of step change.

Time constant is approximately one minute at standstill (normal sump condition) and 63.2%

of step change.

Response

time of other components of the loop is negli-gible.

Loop accuracy at stabilized condition is + 4 F.

2.

Containment Atmosphere Temperature Monitors:

Temperature Element Time Constant is 8 seconds based on actual air velocity around thermocouple for 63.2% of step change.

Response

time of other components in the loop is 3 seconds.

Loop accuracy at stabilized conditions is + 5oF.

3.

Containment Pressure Monitors:

Response

time is 2.5 seconds.

Accuracy is + 3.5 psig.

4.

Containment Water Level Instrument:

Response

time is less than 0.5 seconds.

Accuracy is + 4 inches.

This closes out the subject confirmatory item.

Please contact me if any questions arise on this matter.
