Dear Mr. Tedesco:
Reference (1), Section 4.2.5, states that the guide tube wear surveillance program described in Reference (2), Section 4.2.3.1(d) be performed on the first System 80 plant to receive an operating license.
The attached amend-ment to the PVNGS FSAR provides our commitment to perform the guide tube wear surveillance program on PVNGS Unit 1.
We feel this closes confirmatory item (8) of Reference (1).

INSERT A TO PAGE 4.2-1 PVNGS willverify actual guide tube wear rates by measuring guide tube wear during the first refueling outage for Unit One.
These measurements are expected to confirm that wear rates for the System-80 design are acceptable.
PVNGS will submit an inspection plan for NRC approval six months prior to the first refueling outage for Unit One.
