Summary of Meeting to Discuss Chapter 14 Open Items

Dear Ms. Kerrigan:

Reference 1 requested that natural ':circulation training be implemented and test descriptions be included in the PVNGS FSAR.

The letter also provided training and testing objectives.

The natural circulation test requirement as delineated in NUREG 0737 "Cla rification of TMI Action Plan Requirements",

Item I.G.l will be conducted for PVNGS Unit 1 as referenced'n CESSAR-F Sections 14.2.7 and 14.2.12.5.1.

The test results from'Unit 1 will be compared with the simulator test results to verify the accuracy of the simulator.

Once the natural circulation test has been completed on,'Unit 1 any additional training and testing of the PVNGS reactor operators will be performed on the simulator to the extent necessary to accomplish training and testing objectives per Item I.G.l of the TMI-2 Action Plan.

The natural circulation test will follow the PVNGS written procedures, using CESSAR-F Section 14.2.7 description 14.2.12.5.1 for guidance, to validate the completeness and accuracy of our procedures.

After successful verification of the PVNGS Unit 1 natural circulation test results and the PVNGS simulator, additional testing and verification of PVNGS Units 2 and 3 and to our simulator will not be done.
