'~UEEIION: 26 Please indicate your commitment that administrative controls governing crane operation will be established prior to fuel loading and will include a requirement that crane operators who" operate cranes over fuel pools be qualified" and conduct themselves in accordance with the guidelines of ANSI B30.2-1976 '(Chapter 2-3).
The'ommitment, stated in your letter of June 25; 1981; to report exceptions to ANSI B30.2-1976 "prior to fuel",
load" does not provide a basis for closing this issue prior to authori-zing fuel'oading.
Accordingly, please-identify at this time any excep-tions you'propose to exercise.'n addition, please provide a justification for each exception'hich shows how the crane operators'ualifications and required conduct are not diminished'by'he exception.-
RESPONSE

Revision 1, Appendix A, to this Branch Technical Position and Section III.H or Appendix R to 10 CFR 50.

28 The minimum size for a fire brigade to be'aintained onsite at all times is 5.
The responsibili.ties of the fire brigade membeis under normal conditions will not conflict with their responsibilities during a fire emergency.
The fire brigade is made up of an Assistant Shift Supervisor, two Nuclear Operator I and/or II (Auxiliary Operators),
a Chemistry Technician and a Radiation Protection Technician.
QUESTION: 29 Please state the number of license candidates for Control Room Operator and Senior Control Room Operator that are presently in training for each unit of PVNGS.
RESPONSE
29 PVNGS is presently training'29. License Candidates for Control Room Operator.
PVNGS is also presently training'28 License Candidates for Senior Control Room Operator.
"I None of these students have been designated to Units 1, 2, or 3 at this point in their training.

30 All but six of the operator license candidates have had previous nuclear power experience.
Five of'these have been sent to Arkansas Nuclear One,'nit 2 for training over a typical duration of 10 weeks.

The program addresses the requirements for classroom instructions, fire evolutions, equip-ment use practice, drills, and records documentation.
