SUMMARY
On July 27, 1981 a meeting was held with the Palo Verde reviewers to discuss the status of the Palo Verde review.
The reviewers were requested to mark-up a status sheet that I had prepared.
Based upon these marked-up sheets and follow-up conversations with some of the reviewers.
the following conclusions can be made.
Management attention may be needed for the following review areas in order to meet the SER input date of 10/10/81:
1)
- the review will not begin until 9/81 with questions to be developed by 9/15/81; 2)
Containment Systems - the review against SRP Sections,6.2.1.3 and 6.4.1.4 will not be started until 9/81 due to conflicting priorities; 3)
Operator Licensing - no questions have been received and the review status is unknown; 4)
Procedures and Test Review - Chapter 14 review may be delayed due to conflicting priorities; 5)
Licensee qualifications - Status of review is unknown with the exception of the item I.B.1.2, "Evaluation of Organization and Management".
6)
Class 9 evaluation - review status unknown.
For review areas 3, 4, 5, and 6 identified above, I will continue to try to contact the responsible reviewer to ascertain the status.
In most of the remaining review areas, the reviewers have committed to forward all outstanding questions to me during the month of July, 1981.
