SUMMARY

OF MEETING TO DISCUSS INITIALTEST PROGRAM On March 3, 1981, a meeting was held in Phoenix, Arizona to dCiscuss the Palo Verde initial test program and the Chapter 14 review.

A list of partic'jpants is found in Enclosure 1.

The NRC informed the applicant that PNL personnel will review and evaluate the information presented in Chapter 14 of their FSAR.

Topics of discussion included:

(1) the method of review, (2) the type 1oAf information needed in Chapter 14 to facilitate the review, (3) the acceptance criteria that will be used to evaluate the initial test program description, and (4) typical questions and problem areas that have been identified during reviews of previous applications.

The NRC also informed the applicant that the goal is to complete the review of Chapter 14 on the schedule established by NRC's Assistant Director for Licensing.

The applicant committe.d to review Chapter 14 based on the discussions and to make any necessary revisions.

The NRC stated that, in approximately one week, they would (1) provide a list of Regulatory Guide revisions which they will be expected to address and (2) advise them when PNL can begin reviewing Chapter 14.

The applicant stated that they can then tell NRC the magnitude of the revisions necessary and their estimated date of submittal.
