Dear Mr. Engelken:

We have reviewed the design of PVNGS in accordance with the concerns of NRC ISE Bulletin No. 80-03.

The subject Type II tray adsorber cells are not used on PVNGS.

The filtration units for PVNGS use rechargeable, permanent, single-unit adsorbers (PSU).

Perforated plates tach welded on 3/4" centers to the cell'housing are used on the PSU type adsorbers instead of a screen riveted to the housing.

Therefore, there should not be any separation or filter housing deformation to cause loss of charcoal and/or channeling.

Very truly yours, CC V~
