Dear Mr. Parrish:

This refers to the public meeting conducted to discuss the results of the Plant Performance Review (PPR), which was completed on February 11, 1999. The meeting was held on April 1, 1999, in the Supply System Multi-Purpose Facility in Richland, Washington.

Prior to the PPR discussion, I briefly outlined recent changes to the process that is used by NRC to assess licensee performance.

During the PPR discussion, I noted that NRC had determined that performance at WNP-2 was acceptable.. The discussion included exchange on the results of the current performance review and on the planned regional initiative inspection.

Subsequent to the PPR discussion I provided an overview of NRC actions taken in response to the year 2000 (Y2K) concerns.

Informal discussions with members of the public were held following the meeting.
