This acknowledges the receipt of your submittal of Hay 26,

1993, by which you forwarded a rewritten Revision 11 to the Washington Nuclear Project Unit 2 (WNP-2) Emergency Preparedness Plan.

This further acknowledges receipt of a revised title page for Appendix 5 to the plan, submitted by facsimile on August 27, 1993.

The results of our review were discussed telephonically on August 24 and 25,

1993, by Mr. A. D. Mcgueen of my staff and Hr.

G. 0.

Ray of the WNP-2 Emergency Preparedness Staff.

This discussion resulted in a change to the title page to Appendix 5 of the plan to return it to its original Revision 11 format.

As indicated in our June 30, 1992 letter (R. Scarano to G. Sorensen) and in NRC Inspection Report 50-397/93-28, dated August

27. 1993, the Supply System's shutdown (mode-dependent)

Emergency Action Levels (EALs) were not reviewed for acceptability.

These EALs will be reviewed after issuance of shutdown EAL guidance by the NRC.

Our review indicates that your plan, as revised by the marked changes, continues to meet the standards in 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E.
