WASHINGTON NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 - DENIAL OF AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. 75380)
By letter dated December 4, 1989, you submitted an amendment request to revise applicable technical specifications regarding the operability requirements of the acoustic monitor s associated with the safety relief valves.
By letter dated March 2, 1990, you provided supplementary information related to this request.
The NRC has reviewed your request and determined that it does not meet the requirements of TMI Action Item II.D.3, "Direct Indication of Relief-Valve and Safety-Valve Position."
Your submittals did not contain any information beyond that which was available at the time that Action Item II.D.3 was developed, nor did they contain specific information that identifies plant unique difficulties associated with meeting the requirements of the subject TMI Action Item.
Since your submittals do not present any new or plant specific technical information, your request for amendment is denied.
A copy of the Notice of Denial of Application for Amendment, to be published in the Federal
~Re ister, is enclosed for your information.
