Docket No. 50-397 Washington Public Power Supply System P. 0.
Box 968 3000 George Washington Way
- Richland, Washington 99352 Attention:
Mr. G.
C. Sorensen, Manager Regulatory Programs Gentlemen:
By memorandum dated July 5, 1990, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) informed the NRC of the results of their observations of the offsite activities during the WNP-2 emergency preparedness remedial drill on April 3, 1990.
The memorandum states that the previous deficiency was closed; therefore, FEMA now has reasonable assurance that the public health and safety can be adequately protected in the event of an accident at WNP-2.
Copies of the FEMA memorandum and report are enclosed.
The FEMA report identifies five areas requiring corrective actions.
We request that you coordinate with the offsite authorities to ensure corrective actions are taken to resolve these areas.
Sincerely, Enclosures as stated John P. Roberts, Acting Chief Safeguards, Emergency Preparedness 5
