INSPECTION AT WNP-2
This refers to the special
Safety System
Outage Modification Inspection
(SSOMI) conducted
by an
NRC Region
V team during the period of March 27-
April 7,
and
May 8 - May 26,
1989.
This inspection
examined your activities
as authorized
by
NRC License
No. NPF-21.
Discussions
of our findings were
held with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed
inspection
report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted of,selective
examinations of procedures
and representative- records,
interviews with
personnel
and observations
by the inspectors.
The enclosed
report addresses
the
SSOMI findings only in the area of
dedication of commercial
grade materials for use in safety related
applications.
All other
SSOMI results
are documented
in inspection report
50-397/89-06.
Based
on the results of this inspection, it appears
that one of your
activities
was not conducted
in full compliance with NRC requirements.
This
violation will-be the subject of separate
correspondence
and will be discussed
with the Supply System at an enforcement
conference
scheduled
for June
28,
1989.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
