SUMMARY
,SEPTEMBER 13-14, 1999 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and USA jointlysponsored a licensing workshop on September 13 and 14, 1999, at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri ~
Attendees included staff of USA member utilities, the NRC, and other industry groups.
The goals of the workshop included improving the quality of licensing submittals and improving the licensing interface between licensees and the NRC.,
Major topics of discussion included an overview of various regulatory processes, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) project manager (PM) responsibilities, changes to 10 CFR 50.59, electronic information exchange, license submittal breakout discussions, and related regulatory topics. A copy of the workshop book is included as Enclosure 1 to this meeting summary.
The workshop book contains the agenda, presentation slides, breakout session documents, and a list of attendees. is an analysis of the feedback forms submitted at the end of the workshop, and Enclosure 3 is feedback received verbally during the workshop closing session. contains comments on the qualities of a good submittal list which was a product of the Entergy Licensing Workshop conducted in December 1998.
